missed it

i thought about my fountain pens today.
so i sat down and uncapped my sailor "king of pen" with king eagle nib and put nib to paper.
despite being inked and left aside for three months, the inked flowed without hesitation.
there was no dryness to the nib.
just perfection.

and i realised how much i missed writing.

so i moved

no. i didn't exactly move.
i decided to have two homes.
sometimes here.
sometimes there.
whichever strikes my fancy.

you can find almost anything and everything on the internet.
then why do i keep going only to only a handful of sites?
strange but true.

really nothing at all

things have been going like clockwork for me. same routine. do stuff in the morning before work. jump into the car and race to the office. work. work. work. then jump back into the car and wait out in the jam jam jam. get home, dinner with the family and chill chill chill. same ole. same ole.

i don't mind it. i'm on overdrive. when things get repetitive and mundane, i excel at weathering it out. it's peaceful. you know what will happen next so you just sit and let it happen.

but as luck would have it, some little itchy-fied variable will always factor into my seemingly mundane routine and shake things up a little. a lot a times. annoying. if i could spit at the future random variable for messing up my still waters, i would. and if my spit were alien like acid, it would just burn the little random variable to kingdom come. yeah. burn.

but i'm no alien. i can't see into the future and track down the oncoming randomness and my spit is as harmless as a toad's croak.

so i do what i do best. weather it out. exciting ain't it?

kids

today was all about giving in to the kids. daughter, get some 'stuff' at a korean gift shop with her best friend. son, stay home and watch 'glee' with me accompanying him.

both got what they wanted.

me, happy to entertain. and to catch my nephew making himself comfortable out on the landing.

doofus

it's a perfect wonderful day weather-wise. a chill out day which i have been looking forward to after a trying week at work. everything seems to fit, freedom to do what i want the entire day. yet i feel like such a major doofus. i should be on top of the world but i am moody instead. and i can't seem to snap out of it. if you were in my path and i was a jerk, i'm sorry. maybe i have period?

first day of work for the new year.
and four pens inked and ready.

star wars + iphone

i was talking to my kids over dinner about the "star wars" iphone case that i saw in a store today.
sweet thing! i love it.
i think i showed too much enthusiasm about it.
my kids looked at each other and said,

daughter: abah, do you know that we have money?

me: yes. so?

daughter: we'll give you the money to buy it. we will both share this present for you. for your birthday. ok? we have not gotten you anything.

melts...

i go shopping for it tomorrow :)

my elessar

i tend to name my favourite things. gadgets. and stuff.
and the latest is elessar.
elessar is my brand new, factory unlocked black 32gb 3Gs iphone.
been wanting this for ages and finally, with a little help from wifey,
i finally have my elessar.

elessar is all set up.
he just needs a dinner jacket now. :)
